“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan
Although there is no perfect pet, I will say that a dog is the best choice for many people. Dogs and people develop deep emotional ties and dogs are great companions. They will literally lay down their lives to protect you. Most ask for little in return but to be with you and the occasional treat. So here are our dogs. They don't pay the rent, they sleep all day and they eat all the groceries. We love them and give them plush lives but really what can they give us in return? They can never literally repay us but they give us so much more including unconditional love and companionship. So, who should be thanking who? I am so thankful for my Maltese, Tia, who literally does nothing except be cute and demand a lap to sit on.
It kills me to see so many animals that haven't found their family yet. I knew I wanted to do some type of charity this year but I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. I was thinking about it one day and then I got a little God wink. I was scrolling through facebook newsfeed like I do 28 hours of the day and I saw this really cute picture from one of my favorite online departments stores with a picture of one of their models holding a dog for National Dog Day. It was really cute and very eye catching. Underneath that post I saw a picture posted from PETSinc. of a very sad looking shelter animal. I'm tellin ya sometimes the universe just spells things out for ya. Then those brain synapses started popn and lockin! And watch out ya'll.
I figured out that my love for animals+my boutique+PETSinc.+my family and friends who made beautiful models+ my amazing photographer friend = This awesome opportunity to help an awesome organization and incorporate everything I love!
When I get my mind set on something I am thrown into a complete state of fanatical mania. I absolutely fell in love with this idea and I had to see it come to fruition. Get out of my way. I contacted PETSinc. that day and they loved it! I decided to call on a few friends to model my boutique clothing, each with a rescue from PETSinc. and I would give 10% of all purchases from the boutique from Nov.1-Jan.1 to this organization. This is a very accurate representation of myself.
This Charity Project is in NO way my own. I had lots of help from my dear family and friends. You know who you are because I tagged you on facebook 500 times and filled your facebook wall with lots of garbage. All of the staff at PETSinc. were so kind and accommodating to everyone during the photoshoot. I do want to give one more HUGE shout out to my sista friend Amanda Jones with AJ's Photography who took the special time out of her super busy weekend to help with this project. Go like her facebook page now! you won't be sorry heres the link: https://www.facebook.com/ajsphotography08/
I had such a great day that day. I loved having 13 girls at the salon all morning doing hair and drinking mimosas. We had lots of laughs and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It made me feel good to have my friends there to help me with this. I was so excited to see the good feedback from this project from the locals and shocked beyond belief when I started getting orders over Christmas break from places like Kingsville TX, Duncan OK, Palm Bay FL, Linwood KS & Cleveland TN. This made my heart smile. Finding out that 7 of the animals we used throughout this campaign were adopted was the icing on the cake!
Today I stopped by PETSinc. to visit and give them a check. They were so gracious and asked if I would want to work together again in the future. I plan on it! All in all I would have to say that it was a success and also time consuming and a lot of work but SO WORTH IT! NOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! *~Snap~* Crackle~* Pop~* (that's those synapses again ya'll) I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait to share with you my next exciting project!!!!! Tune in on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Friday at 12:00 P.M. I promise you will want to know what I've got poppin'!!!!!
Tia and I are signing off now. Ciao!
